Hazard mitigation grants enable communities to reduce potential future disaster damage to life, resources and property. MPTX staff from 2005 – 2020 have developed 34 awarded grant applications for government agencies totaling $68.5 million in project funding. Awarded project types include:

• floodprone property acquisition / relocation,
• wildfire defensible space / fuels reduction,
• fire equipment,
• flood control / stormwater drainage,
• planning, scoping, and feasibility studies.

Project types in current development include seismic rehabilitation for critical facilities, storm-hardening retrofit for critical infrastructure, residential structure elevation, and 9-1-1/emergency operations center development.
