HAZARD MITIGATION ACTION PLANS (HMAPs)
MPTX has developed numerous FEMA-sanctioned hazard mitigation action plans (HMAPs) for several jurisdictions across multiple states. These documents report hazard event history and risk assessments, potential impacts of those hazard events, and establishes goals and mitigation strategies to minimize or eliminate future impacts. Plans must be kept current and updated every 5 years, and are pre-requisites for hazard mitigation grant funding eligibility. HMAP development or updates are typically funded through federal grant sources and are important components of a community’s local planning structure.
